Sitting up straighter, she tried to make it casual as she lowered her phone and flipped her hair over her shoulder. Trying to subtly glance up as he passed, her heart fluttered as he looked in her direction...then sank as he looked away and kept walking. She slumped in her seat and picked her phone back up to text her friends about this blatant rejection.
She should have smiled.
She should have said hi.
She should have done something!
He could have done something.
He didn't.
Maybe she should've had her hair in a ponytail? Or not worn her glasses? Or stayed at home?
Her friends say it's his loss...
But she knew she could have done more.
